Welcome to the IRB HIGH PERFORMANCE: - Fitness & Sports Coaching Academy website. Are you looking for a HIGH-PERFORMANCE COACH. For Fitness or a chosen sport. Hi, I'm Ian, a professional FITNESS TRAINER and SPORTS COACH. With over 40yrs experience in the fitness industry, over 45yrs Coaching various sports and over 50 years refereeing various sports. During this time, I have developed my own training & coaching style, by using old, new & proven techniques. I have a cert 3 & 4 in fitness and have coaching certificates in various sports, have completed extra fitness and coaching certificates to empower my skills to ASSIST YOU. I have completed a degree in SPORTS MANAGEMENT, fully insured & working with children certified. Having coached over 50 teams in various sports from Under 6s to Senior Grade, male and female, including representative teams. I am a premiership winning coach & player, with experience of having refereed up to A grade (in various sports) inc Jnr and Snr Reps. Allow me to assist YOU in reaching YOUR fitness goals or to improve YOU, or your child's fitness and/or sporting skills, helping YOU achieve those personal goals, in fitness or a chosen sport. Playing in a Rugby League Masters tournament in Christchurch Oct, 2007 for the club I began playing RL with; Colyton, from the Penrith Jnrs (1968). I still participate in Old Boys & Masters tournaments and also contest at both the Pan Pacific and Australian Masters Games, Winning medals in numerous sports.

Why should children play multiple sports?

Playing multiple sports is also a great way to increase physical literacy and develop the fundamental movement skills that are essential to playing all sports and key to maintaining a good standard of mobility. To develop these skills, kids need to practice a range of different movement patterns, and the best way to do this is to play an array of different sports.
According to PDP, “research shows that early participation in multiple sports leads to better overall motor and athletic development, longer playing careers, [and] increased ability to transfer skills to other sports.
“Having kids play other sports, it’s very important,' “Without it, you could get very limited mobility and athletic development. Encouragement of kids to play other sports in the off-season. Go and experiment and play other things.”
Different sports also give kids a chance to enjoy new experiences, and valuable opportunities to be active in an age where ‘street sports’ and other free-play sports are frequently impeded by things like video games and the prohibition of ball games in public spaces.
